Privacy Policy

Genius Creations Inc., operating as Landscape Genius ("we," "us") is the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers our website and our mobile apps.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run quoting, proposals, invoicing and the marketplace.
- We do not sell your data, and we run no third-party advertising or ad tracking.
- Photos are stripped of EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates, before storage.
- Your exact address is shared with a contractor only after you accept them.
- You can download all your data or delete your account from inside the app — see Your privacy choices.
What we collect, why, and how long we keep it

We do not collect precise device location, we do not use the microphone, and we do not read your contacts. Camera and photo-library access is used only when you choose to attach a photo to a project.
Payments
Purchases made on our website are processed by Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record and as an independent controller for the payment itself. We never see or store your full card number. Purchases made inside a mobile app are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. For in-app purchases we use RevenueCat to validate receipts and keep your subscription or credit-pack entitlement in sync. RevenueCat receives an app user identifier linked to your account and the purchase receipt — never your payment card details, which stay with the app store. See the Subprocessors page.
AI processing
When you use an AI feature, the project description and photos you submit are sent to our AI providers to produce the output. They act as processors under contract, are not permitted to use your content to train general-purpose models, and return the result to us. We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics to improve our own scope and pricing logic. See the AI Disclaimer.
Who else receives your data
- Other users, as needed for your project — a contractor you accept sees your project details and address; a homeowner you quote sees your business profile and proposal.
- Our subprocessors — hosting, database, storage, AI and payments. The full current list is on the Subprocessors page.
- Professional advisers and authorities — where we are legally required, or to investigate fraud or a credible safety risk.
We never sell personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Photos and location privacy
Photos you upload are stripped of EXIF metadata (GPS coordinates, camera details, timestamps) before storage. Files are stored in private buckets that are readable only by your account and by parties you have shared a project or proposal with. Before you accept a contractor, they see only your general neighbourhood.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and withdraw consent where we relied on it. The in-app controls are described on Your privacy choices; deletion is documented at Account deletion. We respond within 30 days and never charge a fee. Exercising a right never degrades the service you receive.
International transfers
Our infrastructure and AI providers operate in the United States and the European Union, so your data may be processed outside Ontario, Canada. Transfers rely on our vendors' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is enforced at the database level with row-level security so one account cannot read another's records, private storage buckets are scoped per user, and passwords are checked against known breach lists. Administrative credentials are held server-side only. No system is perfectly secure — use a strong, unique password.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary storage only: a session token to keep you signed in and local storage for your in-progress drafts and preferences. We run no analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no consent banner to dismiss. Clearing site data signs you out.
Children
The service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We version this policy. Material changes are announced in-app and we ask you to accept the new version; the version and effective date are always shown at the top of this page.
