Landscape Genius uses artificial intelligence in three places. This page explains exactly what each one does, what it does not do, and what you remain responsible for.

Where AI is used

Concept visualisations (Genius Mode). An image model produces a conceptual rendering of what a property could look like after work. It is an artist's impression, not a construction drawing, a survey, or a site plan.
Scope interpretation. A language model reads your description and photos and proposes a structured list of work items and questions. It proposes; it does not decide.
Pricing guidance. The AI never sets your price. Prices are produced by our own deterministic engine from your rate card, your measurements and your margins. Any AI-suggested figure is shown as a non-binding reference range and is clearly labelled.

What AI output is not

It is not a guarantee of what the finished work will look like or cost.
It is not engineering, structural, drainage, arboricultural, horticultural, surveying, legal, insurance or tax advice.
It does not know your local by-laws, permit requirements, setback rules, protected-tree rules, HOA rules, or the location of underground utilities.
It cannot see what a photo does not show — soil conditions, drainage, root systems, buried services, structural condition, or access constraints.

Your responsibilities

Contractors: review every generated scope line, quantity and price before it reaches a customer. When you send a proposal, it is your professional quote, not ours. Confirm measurements on site, locate utilities before excavation, and hold the licences and insurance your jurisdiction requires.
Homeowners: treat concepts as inspiration and any figure as an estimate until a contractor has visited the property and given you a written quote.

Accuracy and errors

AI models can produce output that is wrong, incomplete, or that shows elements that do not exist on your property. We run automated checks that reject concepts conflicting with the confirmed scope, and a failed generation refunds its credit — but no check catches everything. Report a bad generation to support@landscapegenius.app.

Your content and AI processing

Photos and descriptions you submit for a generation are sent to our AI processors so they can produce the output. They are processed under contract, only to provide the feature. We do not sell your content, and we do not permit our AI providers to use it to train their general-purpose models. Aggregated, de-identified statistics may be used to improve our own matching and pricing logic. See the Subprocessors page for who those providers are, and the Privacy Policy for retention.

Labelling

Every AI-generated image in Landscape Genius is labelled as a concept in the app and carries a conceptual-visualisation notice when it appears in a proposal or PDF. Do not remove or obscure that label when sharing the image with a customer.
